LEVEL 4 COURSE
Our level 4 course is designed to provide SEN-Officers at all levels with the essential knowledge and skills they require to ensure:
- compliance with legislation and statutory guidance in the Code of Practice
- high quality production of EHCPs
- development of skills to perform well in challenging situations
- practical application of law, guidance and performance measures within an LA SEND team
The course is delivered over 12 weekly sessions of 3 hours each.
There are 3 assessments to demonstrate achievement of the learning objectives - one of which is a test completed during the course itself.
Delivery is over Teams - but we strive to make it as 'in real life' as possible with group sizes of no more than 16 to facilitate full group discussion as well as breakout small group sessions.
We run an open course from the start of every term on a Tuesday afternoon - £975 per learner. We also deliver bespoke courses for whole teams with up to 16 attendees per group at a discounted rate per learner. Contact us using the tab above to find out more!
LEVEL 3 COURSE
Our level 3 course is designed for assistant SEN-officers, plan writers and business support. We deliver 6 taught sessions of 3 hours each over Teams with some additional independent learning. The aim is to ensure compliance with legislation and statutory guidance in the Code of Practice and the production of high quality EHCPs. We offer this as an open course intermittently but can also deliver this specifically to your team. If you have new staff and want a robust induction and introduction to statutory SEN processes - this is for you!
WHY CHOOSE OUR COURSE?
Our trainers are experienced former senior members of Local Authority SEN Teams - they have genuinely walked the walk and our training is based primarily in practice. We will give you the legal framework and support you to know what quality is but we equally understand the challenges and the practical difficulties in achieving the standards you aspire to for your families. We also understand that you may have difficulties recruiting and retaining Heads of SEND and team leaders and that the capacity within your Local Authority to provide this type of quality training in house may be limited. As such, and unlike other courses, we do all the assessment ourselves. You do not have to find someone who is able to assess, mark and sign off the assignments or portfolios. This ensures consistency and quality in practice - you know that if you get a pass from us, that your staff have the legislative knowledge and understanding around quality they need to do their job well.
QUALIFCATION DETAILS
Our qualifications have been developed to meet the specific needs of our learners and have been accredited by NCFE demonstrating quality and rigor.
These qualifications have been accredited as Customised Qualifications and we have benchmarked the qualification’s learning outcomes and assessment criteria (using the national framework’s level descriptors) to allow you to demonstrate the difficulty and depth of study.
On completion of the Customised Qualification, learners will receive a certificate of achievement. The certificate is evidence of the knowledge and skills gained by completing the qualification. This qualification has been accredited by NCFE under the Customised Qualification and the certificate of achievement will be issued directly by NCFE.
